Orlando City rivalry, partying while putting, and Hawaiian hoopla – the icFlorida ‘Fun 3’

We are just passed the middle of July and another hot and wet weekend awaits. Never fear, though, we have got some extra cool events happening that just might make you forget about the weather conditions.

icFlorida’s Estee Martin spent a couple of minutes with Orlando’s Morning News with Joe Kelley on Friday morning to let you know about this weekend’s best bets for leisure time fun.

The icFlorida Fun 3:

A new and fierce rivalry is brewing between two teams that have yet to meet on the pitch. Separated by less than 500 miles geographically and by only one point in the standings, Atlanta United (1 point ahead of the good guys) visits Orlando City Stadium on Friday night to face Orlando City SC for an inaugural match with enormous playoff implications hinging on the outcome.

Tee up some fun at the 3rd Annual Putt N’ Pour, this Saturday in downtown Orlando’s Thornton Park District. Participants will visit several popular, local restaurants and bars where they'll play creatively designed miniature golf holes while enjoying drink specials and prizes. The after-party at The Abbey includes live music, food, awards and more.

Get immersed in the culture and dance of the south Pacific islands at the 20th Annual Ho’ike Hawai’i Hula Competition & Polynesian Review, Saturday and Sunday at Wyndham Orlando Resort. The two-day hula event focuses on the unique culture, costume and music styles of the various islands. On Saturday, guests can enjoy a concert by Hawaii’s internationally-renowned Makaha Sons.
